3. The Centre informed the Supreme Court that it will require 186 to 188 crore vaccine doses to twice inoculate the 93 to 94 crore population aged above 18 years. It said 51.6 crore doses would be “made available” by July 31.

4. Former Infosys CEO S D Shibu Lal has been appointed chairperson of a three-member task force formed to help the government in bringing major bureaucratic reforms through its ambitious “Mission Karmayogi“.

5. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has proposed an action plan against Pakistan-based terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) NSAs meet.

6. Chandrayaan-2, hovering over the Moon, has found new developments on the hot outermost layer of the bright star known as Corona. These include - Abundances of magnesium, aluminium and silicon in the solar corona. Around 100 microflares were observed, providing new insights about coronal mass heating.

7. Sajan Prakash becomes first Indian swimmer to qualify for Tokyo Olympics. Sajan Prakash on June 26, 2021 became the first-ever Indian swimmer to qualify for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics by breaching the 'A' standard time.

8. China has launched its first fully electrified bullet train in the remote Himalayan region of Tibet, connecting the provincial capital Lhasa and Nyingchi, which is a strategically located Tibetan border town close to Arunachal Pradesh.

9. India named striker Rani Rampal as skipper and Deep Grace Ekka and Savita as two vice-captains of the national women's hockey team for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics to be held from July 23 to August 8.

10. Odisha has become the only state to have all three kinds of crocodile species in its Mahanadi River. The three kinds of species include reptile freshwater Ghadials, muggers and saltwater crocodiles.
